Ramblings of an idiot

Last year I spent a large portion of my time 'working' for a company that offered me zero in the way of job opportunities or mental stimulation. I was surrounded by people who were oppressive and self absorbed. Lunchtimes were spent in various bars in and around Soho suckling on the beer teet, up to my neck in the cocaine fuelled world of post production.

It was one of these boozy nights in Soho that my mate Kev put me in touch with a friend of his. That man went by the name of Zac Leeks who runs a website called Caught In The Crossfire.

‘Crossfire’ (as it’s known to its friends) is a website filled with people, much like myself, mouthing off on all things from books to film but it’s main selling point is continued documentation of the music and skate scenes. This was a web site that I had been aware of for quite some time and had been reading for a while now.

So, after having a phone shoved in my face by Kev, I had a brief phone conversation with Zac and soon after I started submitting my work.

Those hours at work went from being filled with hangovers, staring into space and contemplating masturbation in the office toilets to passing the time to me scribbling down my opinions on new music. Mainly metal. I think there may have been a Seasick Steve review in there somewhere as the token ‘look how diverse I am’ review. Piss poor attempt at being diverse, I know.

So rather than let this blog sit in cyber space and collect dust I thought it may be an idea to actually put something out there. So feel free to have a read of anything that takes your fancy. Just click the links below. You can also see what other people have wirtten on a wide variety of things at caughtinthecrossfire.com

Any of my future reviews or interviews will be posted both here and on the Crossfire web site.

Cheers

Tom
